Job Description
The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. This role focuses on full-stack development, contributing to both front-end and back-end application systems analysis and programming activities. The overall objective of this role is to design, develop, and deliver robust, scalable, and secure applications for regulatory reporting and liquidity risk initiatives.
Responsibilities:

Utilize knowledge of full-stack applications development procedures and concepts, including modern Java frameworks, front-end technologies, API design, and database interaction, to design and implement system enhancements.

Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, proposing and implementing effective programming solutions.

Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing, debugging, and performance profiling across the full application stack.

Resolve technical issues by identifying and selecting appropriate solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by established precedents and industry best practices.

Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

Serve as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts.

Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications

2-5 years of hands-on experience as a Full Stack Java Developer in the Financial Services industry.

Proficiency in Java development, including experience with modern frameworks such as Spring Boot.

Strong experience with front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and a modern front-end framework (e.g., Angular).

Solid understanding and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle) including advanced SQL query writing and optimization techniques.

Demonstrated experience with API design and development (RESTful services).

Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and understanding of CI/CD pipelines.

Experience with Agile development methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira).

Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) is a plus.

Knowledge of Python and integrating with AI tools is a plus.

Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.

Experience with messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka) is a plus.

Experience with Cloud technologies (e.g., AWS) is a plus.

Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
