Day Rate My client is building a new Centralized Product Design function as part of a global software engineering company — a small, senior team that goes where design is needed most and proves what great design partnership looks like. This is one of its core founding design roles.
The role
-
As Senior Product Designer, you'll be the delivery engine of the team. You'll work across multiple products and initiatives — getting up to speed fast, forming strong, influential relationships, while shaping direction, and raising the quality of everything you touch. You'll bring genuine range across UX and UI, using AI to complement your strengths and accelerate your process, while keeping your own judgement firmly in the lead.
-
You'll also make the designers around you better. Not through management, but through the standard you set, the feedback you give, and the way you show up in every crit and collaboration. What you’ll do
-
Own design end to end across multiple concurrent initiatives — from upstream problem framing and research through to high-fidelity UI, delivery and handoff
-
Shape briefs, not just respond to them — identifying what the real problem is before the team has named it, and influencing direction before decisions are locked
-
Build trust quickly with product and engineering partners — demonstrating through the quality and pace of your work that good design makes outcomes better
-
The bar is rising, but quality is still the differentiator. You’ll use AI as a core part of how you design — prototyping faster, synthesizing research at scale, exploring more directions in less time — while leading with design judgement that AI can't replace
-
Produce interfaces that are visually considered, interaction-sound, accessible and aligned to design system standards — you know that UI is where the experience becomes real for users
-
Contribute to the team's case study output — documenting what worked, what didn't, and what it proved about design's value
-
Raise the capability of the team around you through pairing, critique and direct feedback — you are a multiplier, not just a contributor
-
What you bring to the team
-
7+ years in product or UX/UI design with a portfolio that shows both strategic range and design craft
-
Proven ability to operate in ambiguous, complex environments where design influence is critical
-
Experience working across technically deep, domain-heavy products — you're not intimidated by complexity, you're energized by it
-
A genuine point of view on quality — you know what great looks like, you can articulate why, and you don't let the bar slide under pressure
-
Confident, practical experience with AI design tools — not experimentation, integration
-
Fluency in Figma and strong design system literacy
-
Low ego, high standards, and an instinct to leave every team and product you touch better than you found it To apply or find out more contact shane.omahony@cpl.ie / 01-947 6301
