Lead Security Architect
Morgan McKinley is delighted to partner with a leading public sector organization in Dublin to hire an experienced Lead Security Architect on a contract basis.
**
The Opportunity**
We are seeking an experienced Security Architect Lead to drive the technical vision for a major modernisation of Ireland's technology infrastructure.
In this role, you will ensure the solution aligns with enterprise security principles and best practices. You will act as a critical liaison between business teams and technology partners, holding suppliers accountable while designing a secure, scalable architecture leveraging AWS services, networking, and IoT devices.
Please note this is initially a 12 months contract.Location: Dublin (Hybrid) Key Responsibilities

Security Design: Determine security requirements and implement "security by design" principles to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.

Technical Advisory: Provide expertise across cloud servers, AWS Lambda functions, API Gateways, Firewalls (WAF), Network Segmentation, and Application Architecture.

Governance & Compliance: Ensure the project meets rigorous standards, including **
PCI DSS v4.0.1, NIST CSF, ISO27001:2022, GDPR**, and imminent regulations like **
NIS2 and the EU AI Act**.

Collaboration: Work closely with other architects and IT stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and solution alignment.

Documentation: Lead the writing and reviewing of high-level and low-level design documents and participate in Architecture Review Boards.
What You Need

AWS Foundation: Proficiency in GuardDuty, CloudWatch, APIs, Lambda functions, and IAM.

Networking & Cloud: Familiarity with VPNs, transit gateways, segmentation, firewalls, and cellular/Wi-Fi networks.

Security & Deployment: Experience with Kubernetes security design, Zabbix, Prometheus, and IoT tooling.

Identity Management: Expertise in AWS, Entra ID, KeyCloak, or similar third-party tools.

Leadership: Proven ability to hold suppliers accountable, mentor junior personnel, and resolve issues under pressure.

Communication: Exceptional English and people skills for this client-facing role.
Nice to Have

Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or CCNA.

Technical expertise in the Fortinet security stack (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer.
