Head of Information Technology – High-Growth Scale-Up

A rapidly expanding, well‑funded scale‑up in the energy sector is seeking a Head of Information Technology to lead its technology function during a major phase of growth across Ireland and the UK.

This is a newly defined role, created as part of a broader organisational evolution, and represents a genuine opportunity for an ambitious IT leader to step into a senior position with a clear progression path toward future CTO‑level responsibilities.

You will shape the IT strategy, build and mentor a high‑performing team, and ensure that technology enables operational excellence, commercial performance, and scalable expansion into new markets. The environment is fast‑paced, collaborative, and ideal for someone who thrives in a scale‑up setting.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and deliver the IT strategy across Ireland and the UK

  • Lead digital transformation and drive technology innovation

  • Manage and grow a cross‑functional IT team, fostering a high‑performance culture

  • Oversee day‑to‑day IT operations, ensuring reliability, scalability, and strong service delivery

  • Partner with commercial, product, and operations teams to support customer experience, field service, sales platforms, and digital tools

  • Drive business continuity, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance

  • Deliver IT projects on time and within budget, using agile or hybrid methodologies

What You Bring

  • 7–10+ years of IT leadership experience, ideally in a scale‑up or high‑growth environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; approachable and solutions‑focused

  • Proven experience owning and executing IT strategy end‑to‑end

  • Experience managing teams across multiple locations

  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT systems, cloud infrastructure, and SaaS platforms

  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft AD, and the Power Platform

  • Experience supporting commercial operations (CRM, ERP, e‑commerce, field service)

  • Comfortable in fast‑moving, less‑structured environments; startup mindset preferred

  • Cybersecurity knowledge welcome but not the primary focus
