Senior Data Engineer

I'm currently working with a leading organisation in the IT Services and Digital Transformation space who are looking to add an experienced Senior Data Engineer to their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on the design and delivery of modern, cloud-first data platforms, helping clients build and modernise enterprise data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure technologies

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimise scalable data platforms using Microsoft Fabric and Azure technologies.

  • Develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines to support enterprise reporting and analytics.

  • Contribute to the architecture and design of modern data platforms, including lakehouse and data warehouse solutions.

  • Implement best practices across data modelling, governance, security, and performance.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality technical solutions.

  • Support cloud migration and data platform modernisation initiatives.

  • Implement DevOps practices, including Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.

Key Skills

  • 5+ years' experience in Data Engineering, delivering enterprise-scale Azure data solutions.

  • Strong experience designing modern data architectures using Microsoft Fabric and the Azure data ecosystem.

  • Excellent knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and Lakehouse architectures.

  • Hands-on experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, SQL, Python, and Spark.

  • Experience implementing Azure DevOps, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and multi-environment deployments.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Experience working on cloud migration and data modernisation projects.

  • Knowledge of Power BI and the wider Microsoft analytics stack is advantageous.
