My client is looking for a Senior Machine Learning/AI Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join their organisation in Limerick. This is a permanent role.

Key Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in Machine Learning Engineering, Applied Data Science, or a similar hands-on technical role delivering production-grade AI solutions.

  • Strong expertise deploying ML models within manufacturing, industrial, IoT, or operational technology environments including MES, SCADA, and sensor-driven systems.

  • Proven experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn, alongside practical knowledge of model deployment across AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms.

  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing Generative AI solutions including RAG architectures, embedding optimisation, evaluation frameworks, and agentic workflows.

  • Strong understanding of MLOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, model monitoring, retraining strategies, lineage, and governance controls.

  • Ability to work closely with operational stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate complex business challenges into scalable AI and analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy machine learning solutions for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, defect classification, vision inspection, and operational optimisation.

  • Design and implement scalable AI pipelines covering data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

  • Build Generative AI and retrieval-based systems using structured and unstructured industrial datasets including technical documentation, operational procedures, and equipment data.

  • Create robust evaluation and governance frameworks to ensure model accuracy, explainability, traceability, and alignment with operational KPIs and compliance requirements.

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and technology teams to identify innovation opportunities and deliver practical AI-driven business outcomes.

  • Support the adoption of modern AI and analytics capabilities by contributing to technical strategy, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
