Senior Java & AI Engineer Cpl Recruitment are partnering with a global technology and digital transformation organisation to hire a Senior Java & AI Engineer for their growing Dublin-based team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving technical delivery, building scalable backend platforms, and contributing to innovative engineering solutions across a fast-paced technology function.
This role is based in Dublin with a hybrid working model and candidates on Stamp 1G visas are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities Lead and manage product development initiatives from concept through to delivery Design, develop and maintain scalable Java-based applications, APIs and backend services Contribute to AI-driven and data-focused engineering initiatives across the organisation Translate business requirements into actionable development plans and technical deliverables Collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA and DevOps teams across the software development lifecycle Identify project risks and proactively manage issues and roadblocks throughout delivery Monitor timelines, budgets and quality standards to ensure successful project outcomes Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews and technical problem-solving activities Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support product innovation and development Support CI/CD processes, automation and engineering best practices within Agile environments Assist with troubleshooting, optimisation and continuous platform improvements Requirements 6+ years of experience within software engineering or a related technical domain Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot development Experience building scalable APIs, microservices and enterprise-grade backend systems Exposure to AI, machine learning, intelligent automation or data-driven engineering initiatives would be highly advantageous Good understanding of Agile methodologies and modern software engineering practices Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and delivery plans Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills Exposure to cloud technologies, DevOps tooling or containerisation would be advantageous Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline Candidates must be based in Ireland or eligible to work in Ireland, with Stamp 1G candidates also considered On Offer Salary ranging from €74,000 – €90,000 depending on experience 10% annual bonus Hybrid working model based in Dublin 25 days annual leave plus public holidays Pension contribution matching options Private medical insurance Life assurance and income protection cover Ongoing learning and professional development support Mental health and wellbeing support services Opportunity to work on large-scale digital transformation and AI-focused engineering projects Eligibility Must have the right to work in Ireland #LI-JM2
