My client is looking for a Lead AI Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join their organisation in Cork. This is a permanent role.
Key Skills and Experience

Minimum 5 years' experience designing, developing and deploying AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions into production environments.

Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, software design principles, and complexity analysis.

Proven experience deploying cloud-native applications to Kubernetes environments across Azure, AWS or Google Cloud using Docker, Helm Charts and containerisation technologies.

Hands-on experience with ML Ops practices, Azure AI Foundry, Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Computer Vision.

Experience developing REST APIs, designing NoSQL and relational database solutions, and optimising application performance and scalability.

Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership.
Responsibilities

Lead the design, development and deployment of AI and Machine Learning solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure and production-ready.

Collaborate with AI Architects and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective AI-driven technology solutions.

Support the development, customisation and fine-tuning of Large Language Models and Machine Learning models for specific business use cases.

Conduct detailed code reviews, mentor AI Developers, and promote engineering best practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.

Design and implement ML Ops pipelines, monitoring, observability and governance frameworks to support reliable AI operations.

Provide technical leadership across AI programmes, contributing to delivery planning, change enablement, governance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
